We are excited to announce, James Sanders as the 2021 4wrd Diversity in Design Scholarship recipient. James is an Interior Design student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Marymount University where he was recently inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. James served as the President of the Interior Design Club while attending Montgomery College where he earned his Associate of Arts. He has two years of working experience as part of the Interior Design team at Marriott International where he was recognized with the Global Design Distinguished Service Team Award in 2020. In addition to demonstrating excellence in his field, James is committed to sharing knowledge with younger generations in an effort to expose them to opportunities and expand their world view. James has engaged an elementary school in an exercise where each child is provided a floor plan on a foam core board and was able to use an array of drawing utensils, finish samples, and other creative mediums to design their dream bedroom. We are thrilled to have James join our team for the summer. His passion for the industry, hospitality approach, and dedication to learning makes him a wonderful asset to the Interior Design team.

“We can all play an integral part in improving the level of diversity within our practice by taking the initiative and time to extend knowledge.”
– James Sanders, 4wrd Diversity in Design Scholarship recipient
