UINTAH BASIN HEALTHCARE ROOSEVELT HOSPITAL

Uintah Basin Healthcare was in need of updating the original 1968 portion of the hospital, which included the surgery department and the kitchen/cafeteria. The remodel also had a goal to improve patient flows so public corridors would not be used for the movement of inpatients. The solution was a 2-phased approach. First to tear down parts of the old structure and build a new 20,000SF (2 Stories) Surgery suite and materials management, that has a back connection to existing med/surg patient rooms and clinic buildings. Simultaneously to build a new 21,000SF (3 Stories) addition on the front of the hospital to give a new lobby, oncology infusion suite, women’s clinic, and future admin offices. After the new front tower is completed the existing women’s clinic will be remodeled into a new kitchen/cafeteria. The project was complex as each department needed to be complete and operational before the existing areas could be shutdown. The plan minimized the phasing of the project to 2 phases and left some desired future expansion space.
