NYULH WINTHROP RIVERHEAD MULTI-SPECIALTY PRACTICE OUTPATIENT CLINIC

E4H provided architectural and engineering services for a new, multi-specialty practice, outpatient clinic at NYU Winthrop Riverhead, located at 889 East Main Street. The space is currently leased by NYU Winthrop and is approximately 13,500SF on the ground floor space in a single-story existing building. The Multi-Specialty program will be non-Article 28. The Program includes two Endoscopy, four Recovery, twenty Exam, two Procedure, and an X-ray.

The scope includes Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire Protection, Interiors, Lighting Design, and FF&E as well as Information Technology/AV, Nurse Call and Security. Signage design will be provided by NYULH/NYU-WUH and coordinated by E4H.

A challenge E4H experienced was the lack of existing building construction documents available for reference. We surveyed the existing building for each trade (Architectural/MEP/Structural) to document and reconfirm all existing conditions. Additional challenges we overcame was gathering functional program information from each physician practice and bringing them all together into one shared outpatient facility. Schematic test fits were developed to provide the best patient flow between the multi-specialty practices from check-in to check-out. Standardization of exam room layouts between the varying practice groups was critical for future flexibility between the physician practices.
