MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING CANCER CENTER – ICU

This multi-function 20-room ICU for cancer patients was designed to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery. Nursing stations located right outside the patient rooms along with the E-glass windows separating each room allow visual connections that enhance monitoring by caregivers, increase quality of care, and shorten response time.

Because research is a major component of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s mission, doctors’ offices and research facilities have been located on the same floor and directly connected to the ICU. This allows for a faster return on diagnosis and treatment options and improved staff interaction.
