BAYONNE MEDICAL CENTER
The master plan developed for the future expansion of services at Bayonne Medical Center involved defining a “blueprint for the future” that included an overall evaluation of the existing medical center and the recently completed renovations and expansion to the emergency department. The main goal of the master plan was to prioritize future projects to meet the projected increases in demand.
The resulting prioritized projects included expanding radiology inpatient and outpatient space with a possible free standing outpatient center, expanding the inpatient surgery suite, expanding the number of same-day surgery recovery beds and the number of inpatient medical/surgical beds, expanding the number of ICU/CCU beds, expanding the ancillary and support spaces, expanding the emergency room, and adding physicians’ offices. The master plan also outlined potential revenue growth through program expansion. The opportunities identified included radiation oncology expansion with an additional linear accelerator and in- and outpatient treatment space, a second cardiac catheterization lab, more inpatient rehabilitation space, and a new spinal center.
