E4H is excited to announce the completion of the newly renovated Rockefeller Research Laboratories. Located in the heart of New York City, the Rockefeller Research Laboratories building is home to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center‘s (MSKCC) cell biology, developmental biology, molecular biology, molecular pharmacology, and hospital research programs. Since 2015, E4H has provided lab planning, architecture, and interior design on a multi-year phased renovation of several departments.

The project includes an 80,600SF renovation to the 4th floor to create space for a new epigenetics program; as well as upgrades to building corridors, existing offices, and conference spaces on floors 2-10. Most recently, the 13th floor was renovated to support ongoing chemistry, biology, and proteomics research. The 15,600SF project includes a mass spectrometer, wet and dry labs, and a new roof-top air handling unit to support the mass spec equipment. The department includes new chemical storage, staff support rooms, and administrative space. E4H’s lab planning and architecture expertise strengthen the existing research facilities at the MSKCC campus, enabling stronger patient care, advancing research, and supporting education.

“E4H is proud to support the incredible work of MSKCC’s esteemed researchers who are contributing to the latest advancements in cancer care,” said John Rodenbeck, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, EDAC, Principal. “This multi-phased renovation sets a standard for improving outcomes through inspired design.”

E4H has over 40 years of experience integrating empathy and technology into design. E4H’s partnership with MSKCC has created thoughtful spaces for patients, family, and practitioners working to fight cancer. These coordinated care settings provide a holistic approach, inspiring tranquility, encouraging wellness, and delivering cutting-edge cancer care.
