MARY WASHINGTON HEALTHCARE AMBULATORY CARE & IMAGING CENTER

The existing campus had exhausted the surgical caseload capacity available at each of their two surgical facilities. With the trend for surgical procedures being outpatient and the surgical staff’s concerns related to their location, the decision was made to relocate and expand the existing ambulatory surgical center on the campus. This would also allow for an integration of other related outpatient services into the same facility on the hospital campus. E4H began to review several potential sites on the hospital grounds to situate this new state of the art ambulatory care facility. To allow easy movement of surgical staff to and from the new facility, it was decided to make a connection directly to the hospital near the surgery department by way of a bridge. The physical medicine rehabilitation department was laid out with plans incorporated for a future Aquatics center. The surgical center has 6 OR’s while the imaging center has two CT’s, four x-ray rooms and a single MRI.
