SCHNEIDER CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER OF ISRAEL

Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel is dedicated exclusively to the well-being of all children and adolescents in the region, regardless of race or nationality. Jerry Switzer, AIA, ACHA, was personally selected to design the facility. A U.S. Ambassador called the 224-bed facility “one of the finest Children’s Hospitals in the world.” This project is also credited as being the first in the area to use Jerusalem Stone in the exterior design.

Three levels of two 24-bed nursing units are co-located with the same service line clinical services for outpatients. The critical care floor has pediatric intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit on the same level with a 6-OR surgical suite and ambulatory care department to maximize staff efficiency and resources.

Schneider Children’s also contains Israel’s first children’s emergency department which is the busiest in the country, currently seeing over 53,500 patients annually. As the executive architect on the Rabin Medical Center Campus continuously for over 20 years, projects remain ongoing.
