CORNERSTONE REHABILITATION & LONG-TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL
Dallas-based Cornerstone Healthcare Group opened a 60,000SF, 54-bed long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) in Round Rock, Texas. An LTACH caters to patients requiring more prolonged assistance (25 to 40 days) versus the typical three to seven days of admittance at a traditional hospital. This delivery method is the preferred solution for patients too sick for a nursing home but in need of more specialized care.
The freestanding Cornerstone Rehabilitation & LTACH Hospital offers advanced imaging technology and intense care for patients requiring treatment for serious medical conditions such as renal disease, pulmonary disorders, wound care, and burns. In anticipation of evolving needs, the team worked together to plan for a future 18-bed expansion. Accordingly, the building’s ancillary functions (cafeteria, lab, and pharmacy) were built to support a 72-bed hospital.
