CAMBRIDGE HEALTHCARE ALEXANDRIA MEMORY CARE CENTER

In response to a lack of Senior Care options in the region, Cambridge Healthcare constructed a multi-level Memory Care Center in proximity to Old Town Alexandria, on an acquired site adjacent to the existing Woodbine Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

The Memory Care facility is dedicated to the care of cognitive-impaired residents, and consists of a basement level of parking, garage, dietary unit, and building support, with three above-grade residential floors, with core support areas on each level. Opportunities are provided for entertainment, activity, recreation, and physical and sensory therapies. Two upper level gathering spaces with operable windows offer a connection to the outdoors, and a first-floor sunroom leads to an outdoor space where residents can engage in gardening and other outdoor opportunities. E4H was the Architect of Record and Perkins Eastman was the Design Architect. The project received LEED Certification.
