At E4H, we’re more than designers—we’re advocates for mental health, contributing to the industry narrative and championing the cause of this critical area through innovative and compassionate design. Our team actively participates in industry forums, sharing insights and learning from other experts. Recently, Casey Carlton from our team was invited to participate in the Center for Health Design’s Behavioral and Mental Health Network in-person meeting in Columbus, OH. This meeting provided valuable insights into the latest challenges and opportunities in behavioral health design. Casey toured facilities, engaged in dialogue with clinical and administrative staff, and sought Collective wisdom on strategies, challenges, opportunities, and next steps to create solutions that improve wellness for patients and staff.

Learning about “The Columbus Way”

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was witnessing “The Columbus Way” in action. This approach leverages private-public partnerships and deep collaboration to address a broad range of community needs, resulting in outstanding solutions for delivering mental and behavioral health treatments. By integrating efforts across private, governmental, non-profit, educational, and community-based stakeholders, these initiatives provide their communities with comprehensive and high-quality care. Individuals are encouraged to seek treatment, understand their care pathways, and continue their healing journey with confidence.

Looking Ahead

As E4H looks to the future, our focus remains on expanding our impact in the field of behavioral health design. We are excited about upcoming projects that will further advance our mission to design environments to enhance healing, advance health research, and elevate hope. We are proud of Casey and his contributions to the industry and are committed to continuing this important work.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we celebrate the progress we’ve made and reaffirm our dedication to designing with empathy and compassion. Together with our MOREgroup family of brands, we can make a meaningful difference, one thoughtfully designed space at a time.
