Monty Gumble, AIA, was recently honored at the HCD Conference and Expo as an HCD Rising Star. The Rising Star award is a National recognition that celebrates the outstanding achievements of emerging professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to healthcare design.
As nominator Jim Johnson, CEO, explains, “Monty’s enthusiasm and charisma infuses energy into the design process, engaging both design team members and clients. He is invaluable as an emerging leader and colleague; we are so proud to have his dedication recognized.”
Throughout his career, his portfolio of design experience has been with 100% healthcare firms, allowing him to dive deep on a variety of project types from large hospitals to small surgery centers, exploring the unique challenges and opportunities of each project. Monty embraces working as a collaborative team member, implementing the latest in evidence-based design, as well as managing all phases from design to the construction. Monty has served in diverse roles from project architect to project manager, as well as spec writing. Exposure to each new role provides a new opportunity to apply his exceptional knowledge and deepen his understanding of the industry.
A Graduate of Texas Tech University, Monty has a Master’s in Architecture with a Certificate in Healthcare Design, and a Master’s in Business Administration. From a young age, he realized that design provided the opportunity to combine his passions of math, technology, and artistry. Monty’s business background gives him a comprehensive understanding of the level of service and efficiency that must be achieved for an architectural firm to be successful.
During his acceptance speech Monty expressed gratitude for the support of colleagues, family, friends, and mentors along his journey. He is dedicated to being a positive influence in the healthcare design industry, guided by his favorite quote from Gandhi, “You must be the change you wish to see the in the world”.
