Recently, President Jeremy Bartz, Principal Brian Coltrane, and E4H team members conducted an interactive mockup room review with clinical staff at the new Roper Hospital Medical Campus in North Charleston, South Carolina.
The process involved full-scale models of seven key spaces, including:
- Emergency Department (ED) Exam Room
- Vertical Care Bay
- Observation Room
- Trauma Room
- Hybrid Operating Room
- General Operating Room
These life-sized mockups allowed clinical staff to engage in a hands-on review, providing invaluable feedback to fine-tune layouts. By simulating real-world scenarios, the team ensured that each space supports efficient workflows, fosters exceptional patient care, and meets the unique needs of staff and patients alike.
Once completed, the Roper Hospital Medical Campus will provide state-of-the-art facilities for Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. Some highlights of the campus include:
- A 24-hour emergency room
- A medical office building offering outpatient and specialty care
- Additional features designed to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency
Through this thoughtful and interactive process, the E4H team is helping shape the future of healthcare for South Carolina. By listening to the needs of clinical staff and incorporating their insights into the design, the new Roper Hospital Medical Campus will be a place of healing, innovation, and excellence for years to come.
