Don Sedgley, most recently President & COO with the Novant Health UVA Health System, joins E4H Environments for Health Architecture as Associate Partner. An engaging, motivated and highly visible senior healthcare executive who is passionate about the human experience with 28 years of diverse experience, Don leads client relationships and advocacy.

With healthcare industry knowledge and extensive training, Don leverages his healthcare administrator and patient perspective to benefit our clients. This encompasses strategy, service line development, process and financial viability. With a proven track record of success with projects, people and process management, Don is adept at merging function with design, initiating operational excellence, utilizing resources and cultural integration.

Don grew up on Long Island then lived at Lake Norman, North Carolina where he was an executive with Novant Health. He attended undergraduate at Hofstra University for psychology. Don also holds a graduate degree in counseling from Lamar University, Beaumont Texas and healthcare management from Stony Brook University, New York.

Impressed with his leadership and operational expertise, Novant Health invited him to relocate to Northern Virginia to lead construction then operationalize Haymarket Medical Center (HAMC), regional strategy, service line development and corporate culture. This new community hospital is the health system prototypical hospital of the future and foundation of the Haymarket medical campus based in the growing Washington D.C. suburbs. Don began as President & COO and later assumed responsibilities of system integration and corporate services following the formation of a joint operating company with the University of Virginia.
