Join E4H as they present Designing with Dignity: Addressing the Gap in the Care with Affordable, Assisted Living Facilities at Environments for Aging on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 8:30 – 9:30AM, Charlotte, NC. Across the US there is a severe shortage of affordable assisted living facilities. This session will address the benefits, complexities, and best practices for designing affordable assisted living facilities, which fill the gap in care between independent living and skilled nursing facilities. Panelists will highlight Residences at Kenilworth Park and Residences at Benning Road  to identify elements that are critical to a successful affordable, assisted living project. Topics include public policies that incentivize the development of these facilities; sustainability measures that lower operating costs and improve health and wellness; biophilic design elements to improve the resident/caretaker experience; and transit-oriented development to expand access.
