UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT MEDICAL CENTER MOTHER-BABY UNIT

The Mother-Baby Unit for University of Vermont Medical Center provides 22 private rooms for new mothers. This $15.8M project upgraded 50 year old rooms, relocating them to the same floor as the nursery and labor and delivery rooms, improving patient transport and communication. The new private rooms are larger, and create a calm and nurturing environment for new families. Each room includes a Murphy bed for supporting partners or family, as well as updated technology which includes touch pads for patients to communicate their needs to staff. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
