THE ACADIA HOSPITAL OBSERVATION UNIT

The Acadia Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric facility supporting the recovery of adults, children/adolescents for both mental health and substance abuse treatment.

This renovation project created a 10-bed adult and adolescent 23-hour observation unit. The observation unit is designed for discrete access for ambulance transfers, private client exam and assessment, family support, and 10 private rooms. The rooms are arranged in a horseshoe pattern around a central nurse station to maximize visibility and control. Low voltage controls are utilized for added patient safety and protection.
