ST. JOSEPH’S CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF TAMPA
This expansion provided St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital a home of its own, connected to the adjacent St. Joseph’s Hospital. The addition includes 50 beds with expansion capacity, a pediatric intensive care unit, day hospital, and a new entrance.
This award winning project was a pioneer in the concept of decentralized nursing. The private patient rooms are organized in clusters with sub-nursing stations to facilitate a “point of service” care giving model. A limited footprint and budget inspired creative solutions to interior design and layout. Staff and exam spaces are all designed to minimize clutter and maximize efficiency.
