PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL OF DENTON

Presbyterian Hospital of Denton reached a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of a hospital and extensive campus development. The developed master plan addressed 560,000SF on 35 acres including the 300,000+SF hospital; 180,000SF of renovated specialty use; 80,000SF medical office building; and a 1.5M SF site master plan encompassing ten major and minor outbuilding structures.

The freestanding hospital was designed with multiple, de-centralized entries and an internal circulation spine. All primary outpatient and emergency services are adjacent and easily accessible.  While the majority of patient services are provided on the ground floor, the large patient bed tower extends four flights above the roof. Vertical sections of glazed curtain wall were used to break up the mass of the structure, aluminum panels and butt glazed windows enhance the modern appearance of the exterior, while masonry column surrounds enhance the personal feel and scale to the entrances. The campus serves as a medical destination for the region and enhances Denton’s position as a major medical resource for all of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
