NEWYORK-PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL WESTCHESTER INPATIENT UNITS

After designing a master plan to upgrade 12 inpatient units to the latest safety and regulatory requirements, E4H was asked to implement two of the units: a 22-bed geriatric unit and a 21-bed adolescent unit. All of the inpatient units are located within the original patient pavilions of the campus, which was designed on the classical Kirkbride model and built at the end of the 19th century. The new design, completed within the constraints of these 100+ year old landmarked pavilions, extended the clinical space and incorporated features of therapeutic design.
