MONTEFIORE MEDICAL CENTER SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM CLINIC

The new Substance Abuse Treatment Program Clinic houses the Department of Social Medicine’s administrative offices and provides space for the current Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) sponsored programs. It includes an ambulatory primary care clinic, a methadone maintenance program, a New Directions program for former users as well as continuing care therapy and treatment programs for neighborhood clients. Adjacent to the elevated train line along Jerome Avenue, the building is designed to fit comfortably within the low-rise commercial streetscape. It is made of durable contemporary materials, including polished and rough CMU, corrugated and smooth steel panels, glass curtain wall, and aluminum storefront components. Its west-facing location provides visibility and natural light to the interior spaces.
