Hittite Microwave’s initiative to enhance and expand its corporate headquarters began with the successful completion of a detailed property due-diligence study. Subsequent renovations of the 110,000SF building encompassed four floors across two wings of the property with the strategic repurposing of existing infrastructure and amenities.
Hittite’s primary design initiative was to enhance their corporate culture of engineering excellence. Communication, productivity, and collaboration among departments were enhanced with the incorporation of a communicating stairway, the creation of an open office environment, strategically located informal teaming areas, limited private offices, and workstations.
The new design features private and open office “neighborhoods”, research and administrative spaces, 25,000SF of Class 100k assembly and testing laboratories, a large cafeteria and servery, as well as break-out and collaboration spaces on each floor.
