BETH ISRAEL DEACONESS MEDICAL CENTER OTOLARYNGOLOGY CLINIC

E4H provided architecture and interior design services for the renovation and relocation of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)‘s Otolaryngology Clinic to the ground floor of the Carl J. Shapiro Center. The project involved fitting out an existing medical records space, improving flow, and implementing wayfinding throughout. Now a part of BIDMC’s East Campus, the 6,700SF ENT Clinic includes new exam rooms, procedure rooms, state-of-the-art audiology booths, new sterile processing, and ancillary support spaces. The project required a new ground floor ramp, improving patient and staff flow throughout the entire Shapiro building. The design of the ramp and connecting corridor blends with the existing atrium lobby space, with natural wood finishes, glass balustrades, and terrazzo flooring.

This project is phase 1 of a three-phase initiative to create a contiguous clinical area that connects and updates several hospital departments.
