We are pleased to announce that Candice Barter, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, has joined the firm as Partner in our Boston office.

With over 18 years of health design experience, Barter has led and collaborated on a wide array of complex healthcare projects, including specialized pediatric designs and academic healthcare centers. Barter excels in planning, programming, and project management, closely collaborating with her clients to achieve the shared goal of providing top-tier patient and staff comfort.

“I share the E4H commitment to healthcare design that contributes to the best possible care for patients,” said Barter. “Having visited hospitals numerous times as a parent, I’ve been able to use this experience to inform my work and to design space that enhances patient wellbeing and client success. I am thrilled to join E4H and its Boston team, where we will continue to create welcoming and functional spaces for patients and their families, as well as hospital staff.”

The addition of Barter underscores E4H’s commitment to improving outcomes through the use of innovative design and technology. Both E4H and Barter implement a human-centric and research-based approach to design, resulting in transformative healthcare and health science facilities.

“We are excited to welcome Candice to the Boston team,” said CEO Jim Johnson. “Candice’s passion for creating spaces where patients and their families feel safe and comfortable coupled with her impressive experience and relationship-focused approach to her work make her a perfect fit for E4H. We look forward to leveraging her extensive experience as we deepen our New England presence and expand upon our track record of creating human-centered environments that enhance health and research.”

Barter will help to develop innovative initiatives while supporting the continued mission of serving the Northeast region.
